To be considered for a full-tuition scholarship, candidates must qualify for admission to the University of Chicago and be children (or legally adopted children) of sworn Chicago Fire Fighters and Chicago Police Officers who will remain active for the duration of their children’s college careers. Students whose parent lost their life in the line of duty are also eligible for the scholarship. Each winner is guaranteed full tuition for four years of undergraduate studies (12 academic quarters), provided he or she makes satisfactory academic progress. All Police and Fire Scholarship candidates must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
