Financial Aid uses the following budget to determine financial aid awards.

  1. First year students are assessed a one-time Class Fee of $1,224
  2. All students are required to have health insurance while enrolled at the University of Chicago. Students are automatically enrolled in the University Student Health Insurance Plan for an additional fee. More information about opting out of this plan will be provided by Campus and Student Life in the summer. Information available at

  1. Health insurance is not included in the cost figures above. The health insurance cost for 2017-18 is $3,972.
