*For the purposes of financial aid determination, Room and Board costs are based on the first-year room rate and the first-year unlimited meal plan. The financial aid calculation does not change for alternate housing options.
Note:
- First year students are assessed a one-time Class Fee of $1,224
- All students are required to have health insurance while enrolled at the University of Chicago. Students are automatically enrolled in the University Student Health Insurance Plan (U-SHIP) for an additional fee. For more information about U-SHIP and to enroll or opt-out, please click here.
- Health insurance is not included in the cost figures above. The health insurance cost for 2018-19 is $4,398.
